18th of Greenshade, 1147
The session begins with the players waking up after a night of comradery. Carrick is the first to wake, after deciding to head to bed early the night before. He makes his way downstairs, seeing a passed out Moses on the couch, bottle of ale in hand, and starts rummaging through the cupboard hoping to find something, anything to drink. Hungover, Moses wakes and pleads with Carrick to keep down the ruckus. Kol wakes next, emerging from the bedroom shortly followed by Nahlir. The group makes plans to head to Valleyrest’s general store before making their way to the Varren estate.
After stopping by the general store, the party makes their way to the Varren Estate, traveling an hour north to the impressive house upon the hill. Carrick reconnects with Darin for a bit before Ethel shows up with Tomas. Together, the group enters into house, meeting Carrick’s older sister, Seris Varren. The group informs Seris of what they had experienced yesterday and some of the items that they had retrieved. Seris takes time to look over Tomas, citing the same necromatic and conjuration magic that Moses had felt and the lack of reception to any of her healing magic. She also identified an item called the “Voidstone” and was unable to identify what the burning book was.
The group decides that taking a chance on the rumor they heard about the apple. While Darin prepares the horses, Carrick spends a bit of time catching up with Taren upstairs before leaving for Oakhurst. Once the wagon is ready, the group sets out for the first town on their stop, Rivenlock.
When they arrive, they find a small, barren town. While driving their wagon through they are stopped by a man waving them down after running out of a tavern.
